I stayed at Hotel Central Luzern for five nights during my trip to Lucerne, and I can’t recommend it enough! The location is unbeatable—just a short two-minute walk from the train station and a five-minute stroll to the famous Chapel Bridge.Â
Hotel Central Luzern is tucked inside a neo-classical building and is situated on a quiet side street next to the municipal park. It’s perfectly positioned for exploring Lucerne’s main attractions!
The attentive staff, who made a point to acknowledge my comings and goings, made me feel especially safe and welcomed. As a solo traveler, I appreciated this extra attention.
The room itself was cozy, well-kept, and offered everything I needed. There was a separate sitting area with a couch and small table. A large TV was on a swivel in between the sitting area and the bed so that you could turn it to watch TV in bed.
And the bathroom was well appointed with all the necessities including shampoo, conditioner, soap and hand lotion.
The Hotel Central Luzern also has a lounge area on the second or third floor, I can’t remember which. It is filled with comfortable seating and has a lovely balcony overlooking a quaint side street. Coffee was always available in the lounge too, which was a nice perk!
Breakfast is served in the lounge and features local products like meats, cheeses, eggs, fresh fruit, and the most delicious croissants!
I appreciated that the breakfast area had long communal tables as well as separate individual tables. Feel like socializing? Communal table. Feel like keeping to yourself? Individual table.
The hotel is such a great value for Switzerland, with rooms available for under $200 a night, including breakfast.
With free Wi-Fi, close proximity to Zurich Airport (just 50 minutes away), and a comfortable, home-like vibe, I highly recommend Hotel Central Luzern for anyone visiting Lucerne!
